I’m Shannon. I’m 48yrs young & day by day through yoga, I’m figuring out this incredible existence we call life. Having done my training & extensive, immersive travel in India…I’m bursting to share my first-hand knowledge & experience with you all.

I’m passionate about inward contemplation, self care, self love, alternative thinking, everyday mindfulness, music, travel, appreciation for small things, cultures, rituals & building a sangha (A community of like-minded people).

My background is in dance & performance so having an interest in movement & the physical body, I attended my first yoga class in 1997 taught by a man in lycra bike shorts & I’ve been hooked ever since! (& it wasn’t just because of the shorts I promise).

I’ve been practicing yoga for 20+yrs now. In 2018 I completed my 200hr teacher training at Sukha Mukha Yoga in Sydney & in Oct 2019, I graduated from 300hr teacher training at AYM ashram in Rishikesh, India. I give thanks to all my teachers who have nurtured & guided me on my yoga path so far.

Yoga is not a religion but a way of life. If practiced properly both on & off the mat, it unites our mind, body & spirit so we can come to understand ourselves in a holistic sense. To learn how to live in this fast paced world, to be able to self regulate our breath, emotions & reactions to then live a calmer & more balanced life.

When we can travel internationally again, I will take small groups to India that mesh the chaos with the calmness of yoga, cities with villages, music with healing, rivers with deserts & mountains with the sea.

My Classes

Hatha Yoga

I teach Hatha yoga. ‘Ha’ meaning sun (masculine) & ‘tha’ meaning moon (feminine) Hatha = Balance of 2 opposites.

We will explore asana through correct alignment (use of props), pranayama (breath control), yoga philosophy (ancient wisdom & ethics) & sacred mantra (chanting) to directly connect us to the self & to the elements & strengths of the universe. It is all there for us…if we slow down & tune in.

  • FRIDAY  Hatha Yoga 9:30am – 10:45am

FEES

$18 per class

Tuesday Senior Yoga Classes $12

$160 for a 10 class pass (10% discount and valid for 3 months)
